WED in Linux

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have installed Linux Mint and I am now trying to use WED, but when I double-click the program, it does not do anything, literally nothing is happening with it

Does it say "Execute or open or execute in terminal" if it does and you have selected Execute and still not working then you are probably missing some libraries like Qt, what i suggest is run WED from the terminal and see what the message is.

When I tried to run it in the terminal, I typed WED as it is the name of the program, and I get the following message:

WED: command not found

Permisson are : -rwxrwr-x

it unfortunately requires a library that is only available for the RedHat Linux variant, it can not be installed in Ubuntu or LinuxMint

I can run it just fine. What library are you missing?

As  a matter of fact Laminar uses an ubuntu system to develop and compile the Linux versions...

I am missing libqtcore.so.4

Weel it can not be found in either the ubuntu repository or the LinuxMint file searcher for online files

Install Qt 4 or 5 along with the dev libraries.

You need the QT package. Don't search for libqtcore just install Qt.
