Will there be any new improvements for the flashing and artifacts for us poor 32 bitters?

We are waiting for more feedback from this version. But yes we have plans to make a special download for anyone who needs an interior model with less code. We will remove all animations from the cabin and maybe a few from the VC.

Just downloaded this version and noticed 2 possible glitches.

I'm sure the tooltip in the trim wheel used to say airspeed or vertical speed whichever climb mode is selected?  Now just vertical speed.

The N1 guages seem to be sticking?  If I throttle back from climb speed the throttles move but the 3 guages stick. If I press a key (like B) they wake up and move.

Great aircraft Mark - raw power!

B by default is the reset of the barometer. Sounds like an issue on your end. Also read my reply above to Twenty6. See if that is the issue. But sounded like a total different issue for both of you guys.

Also the new VC engines sounds are going to be very low in volume and this was set by our pilot/tech for more realism. So don't crank up the volume because other sounds are going to be loud.

I know what B is. I was using that as an example. I'll try another clean install plus delete and report back.

The default aircraft is the Raptor not the F35 as stated above in 4.4. Is that still ok? I am experiencing engine failures with several more aircraft nowadays if I dont load the default aircraft first time.

Can you reply to my query about speed trim please?

Thanks

Dean

We figured that you used B as an example. Sounds like a faulty P3D. I had to re install P3D V4.4 after updating from V4.3 because the PBR would not work and i updated the client and the other 2 updates. Nothing worked until i did a fresh install. I think P3D updates have issues.

I would not load a default first. Just keep a default for the loading into the screen but change to the F50 before loading. This prevents those settings from taking over.

The update about the tooltip was not changed. It was just not showing for the 3D wheel in FSX only. We simply fixed it. It always only showed the Autopilot Vertical Speed Hold. That's all it is.

Yes, N1 sticking when trying to decrease the throttle. It takes  a large movement before N1 responds.

Also, IMO, the new wheel sounds do not add anything to what was already in the Falcon. I find the sound rather annoying. I'll try running it thru Audacity to lessen its bite.

I also saw the throttles sticking in 1.8. When I throttled back almost to where they would be at idle, they recovered and responded to movements.

So far I have 3 flights completed on 1.8. I saw flashing and artifacts twice. Once at altitude and was able to stop it simply by going to the menu bar and having the FSX screen disappear. When I returned, it flashing was gone. Another time flashing began immediately when FSX was launched. I closed FSX and reopened, and flashing was gone. Seems to be improved. Will keep flying and report.

This is a good change, because the previous engine sounds, though very realistic in terms of the basic sound pitch and character, were definitely too loud.

Speaking of sounds - this may not be easy to change, but there is actually very little sound heard when deploying or retracting slats only. Currently in the sim, the same sound is heard for slat and flap deployment. In the actual aircraft, the slats are directly “pushed out and pulled in” by linear hydraulic actuators attached to the slats themselves. Even in the hangar, when they are extended using a ground hydraulic power cart, all you really hear is a quiet “hiss” as they move. They do make a brief muted “clunk” when they reach full extension, which can be heard inside the aircraft.

The flaps are driven by a hydraulic motor through a series of rotating torque tubes connected to geared screw jacks. The current flap motor sound is accurate, (though louder in the cabin than in the flight deck).

Though not perfectly accurate, perhaps customers would object if the current flap motor sound associated with slat deployment were removed, since it does provide some audible feedback that indicates when the slats are in motion.

Four separate flights with v1.8 here so far. Although flashing was present on loading the aircraft each time, it disappeared within a few seconds in 3 flights so wasn't troublesome although a slight artefact (a pencil thin line running diagonally across the screen) remained during one flight. A fourth flight however had persistent flashing which did not disappear.

Hello:

I cannot set 29.90 in the altimeter.   It jumps from 29.89 to 29.91.

Thanks.

Good catch, a bug in the altimeter setting wheel logic perhaps. What's strange is it only seems to be a P3Dv4 issue -- FSX/FSX-SE works OK for me -- but I think the code is the same.

Note that the tool tip seems to indicate the 29.90 value correctly so you can use that for now. Or, you can always hit the B key to have the altimeter value set by the sim.

We increased the top end range so that the N1 can be more precisely set. We got feedback from many customers who had issues where the throttle setting was too sensitive and the aircraft would not maintain speed. Because a small movement caused the N2 to jump in large increments. Now you should be able to adjust .5 percent per movement. This has already had excellent feedback.

The wheel whine is spot on for the Falcon 50. Very loud and is almost the only thing you can hear during takeoff. Even at low speeds this sound from the real A/C was extremely intense.

No worries on the wheel whine, it was just my opinion.

On another matter.... on altimeter settings from 29.59 to 29.91 I cannot adjust the setting where the last digit is 0 (zero). ie: 29.60, 29.70, etc. Above or below that range doesn't present a problem.

Hi:

I'm also having an issue getting the GTN 750 to appear on the center counsle and as a pop-up.

Was there and worked fine in 1.7B, but nothing in 1.8

Thanks.

Could someone please tell me how to listen for the new flap sounds? In FSX Sound settings I have Engines at 20%, Environment at 20%, Voice at 100%, and Cockpit at 100%. I hear the new wheel whine just fine (great addition), engines ok, and the previous loud flap sound is gone, but I don't hear any sound when lowering the slats and flaps, either in the cockpit while flying, in the cockpit on the ground, or outside on the ground. What am I doing wrong?

PS: FSX boxed
