The Falcon 50 V1.8 Beta Available

Recommended Posts

Just loaded v1.8 Beta into P3D v2.4 and everything seems to be working correctly, no VC flashes which was my biggest concern, love the new N1 values a lot more realistic at cruise setting, throttle sensitivity much better now. No issues with setting the BARO, nice touch with the fuel truck. Take off is much more dramatic with the tire noise, really get the feeling of moving down the runway, so far very pleased with this version. Thanks again FSW team for a really nice aircraft.

Cheers

Martin

Also noticed no flap or slat sounds but that might be intentional, look at Jim Barrett post in this thread and he mentions how quiet they are in the real aircraft.

Hi:

I'm also having an issue getting the GTN 750 to appear on the center counsle and as a pop-up.

Was there and worked fine in 1.7B, but nothing in 1.8

Thanks.

I am not having this problem. Sounds like an install issue of some kind to me.

I'm not aware of new flap sounds at this point. There is a new sound for the flap handle being moved to a new slot, but not for the flaps themselves moving as far as I know. So I think the lack of flap sound is a bug.

Hi Al, you're probably right, the previous flap sounds were pretty apparent, and after re-reading Jim's post I think he was just referring to the slats being rather quiet in the real aircraft. However if you go to the video that Mark posted a few days ago about the new sounds the only thing I hear with the flaps is the new sound for the flap handle so maybe a minor over sight when adding the new flap handle sound.

Thanks

Martin

I'm having a strange problem with the orange digital readouts on the N1 gauges not appearing from time to time.

These new gear and runway rumble noises are INTENSE! It really feels like I'm rocketing down pavement instead of a glazed sheet of glass, very fun!

We increased the top end range so that the N1 can be more precisely set. We got feedback from many customers who had issues where the throttle setting was too sensitive and the aircraft would not maintain speed. Because a small movement caused the N2 to jump in large increments. Now you should be able to adjust .5 percent per movement. This has already had excellent feedback.

The wheel whine is spot on for the Falcon 50. Very loud and is almost the only thing you can hear during takeoff. Even at low speeds this sound from the real A/C was extremely intense.

I like the new throttle response very much - definitely easier to trim them precisely in cruise to maintain a desired Mach.

I don’t think Mark would have had time to change anything based on my input this morning. I just flew 1.8 and noticed there were no flap or slat sounds at all, so maybe it’s a bug.

The slats are indeed silent for all intents, but you can normally hear the flap drive mechanism, though it’s not as loud in the cockpit as it has been in the FSW aircraft up til now. It’s louder in the center and aft cabin than it is up front.

Our tech/Pilot said they could not be heard. Glad you brought this up as i wanted to keep some sound with the new handle sound even if they are hard to hear because customers want these common sounds.

"Sounds" like this was a rare case of a little too much realism!   😉

The handle sound is a nice effect, so your tech/pilot is saying on the real aircraft you can't hear the flap drive mechanism sitting in the cockpit?

P.S. Love the wind effect of the gears...nice job!

Hi Bob

Yes I have the white box as well, thought it was something wrong in my installation. For the fuel load buttons, I don't think I have this pb, will verify next time
