BTW, AIG just uploaded a bunch of stuff overnight. Time to fire it up and see what's new:)

Now that the manager is all wrapped up, they're on a roll releasing winter plans. Loving it.

Interesting thread.  I have used MT6 for many years ,  and all my flying is with 737-Q400 in USA and Europe. I am wondering it there is any benefit to uninstalling MT6 and trying AIG?  I do use FSUIPC traffic limiter.

Yes! You'll never have more accurate plans or paints in your sim if you don't switch! 🙂
Sometimes when I taxi, I see this new livery I've never seen before on the AI and I'm very happy thinking "oh boy, where did you come from? I've never seen you before!"

You should try it. It took me two evening sessions to get 200+ airlines. What I really like that there a so many variations. I have used and enjoyed MT for many years but with P3Dv4 and UTL, I left MT behind me.

It is probably the biggest advantage to using AIGAIM. Each airline package was thoughtfully assembled and all of the special paints are included. It takes the best work from freeware painters, developers and planners and packages it in a payware quality wrapper for free.

I don't think they have ever done Tropic Air or MAYAir, for example.

There are flightplans and repaints for many of those smaller carriers in their forums and guaranteed they will be better than those found in UTL (which of course might have plans for many smaller airlines, but no repaints.

I think it is important to recognize that AIM's OCI is still in beta test mode and not all flight plans have been converted to support OCI. For my home airport (CYYZ), I have 53% coverage of airlines from OCI and an additional 31% from older AIM flight plans that I compiled myself. This gives me 86% coverage for the airline operators for my airport.

OCI will, in my opinion, become a very important part of using AI in FSX and P3D but it is still in its infancy. Please give the development crew some time to get the development to the point that they are happy with a general release before you start to ask for real comparisons between it and commercially available products.

As of today, AIM OCI supports 459 traffic BGLs (i.e. flight plans for operators). All these BGLs were generated automatically including all model and texture downloads. There are 200 SimObjects created as part of that process. The BGL/SimObject space consumed is currently 25.6 GB. All this will, of course, keep expanding as AIM adds new airline flight schedules to OCI.

That's pretty darned amazing for something that was really only opened up for testing at the start of this year.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with the AIM OCI folks other than as a tester of their hard work.

Harry if you want to spice things up even more, MAIW released the Matrix application that automatically applies military packages to P3D recently too.

They will have a lot of the airlines, but I wouldn't expect them to have as many as UTL (talking flightplans, of course). I don't think they have ever done Tropic Air or MAYAir, for example.

Still, as I mentioned, it is not a one or the other issue. You can use both. If you want a cheap, quick solution, of course, AIG is absolute perfection. Not only will it satisfy most people, it probably has made all payware products obsolete. If you already own UTL, however, there are ways they can compliment each other.

BTW, AIG just uploaded a bunch of stuff overnight. Time to fire it up and see what's new:)

Well you have to go into their forums they have flightplans i've never even seen before.   Also they have flight planners who build flightplans for bizjets covering every company you can think of.   And have a GA aviation section for those SEP and other props.  They do a ton of small carribean airlines, small cargo carriers like those in Alaska, etc.

For those who were waiting for Air Canada (seemed like quite a few people on the forums here were) it is out for AIG OCI.  And Westjet.  You can go back to being even happier Canadians...lol.
