CoPilot does not answer to Atc when there is not approach control

Recommended Posts

Hi,

In RC4, when there is no approach control at an airport, the center control transfers you directly to the tower.
Every time from that moment on, Lorna, my co-pilot, no longer answers the Atc and doesn't contact the tower, even if I repeat to her that she has ATC and acknowledge receipt.

Thank you and Regards,

With RC4 Atc, replies are handled using dedicated voice pack Lorna has recorded for RC4.

Could you check there is no audio file missing, compared to what other RC4 co-pilots have? in RC4 installation folder.

I made a comparison with WinMerge program.

Folder 52 (Lorna) contains 2338 files. Folder 53 (Stuart Hyett) or other RC4 natives contain 1798 files.

The result of the comparison shows differences mainly between aircraft models and airlines. No difference in flight procedures such as take-off, landing, transfer from centre to centre, tower, ground and so on...

In fact, normally when an airport has an approach frequency, Lorna responds as expected without any problems (transfer from the centre to the approach and then from the approach to the tower).

In case there is no approach frequency, it gives the impression that MCE program may not switch to the next step of the procedure (Control Center transfer CoPilot directly to the tower, CoPilot acknowledges receipt but does not change frequency and of course does not contact the tower).

Hi Gerald,

Did you read my reply?

Thank you.

Really can't tell as you need to have the exact context under which this happened.

All I can say is that with Radar Contact, when FO has the COMMs it's completely in the hands of RC4 to trigger the FO speech (unlike with PF3).

Maybe a damaged specific audio file that stalled the playback or something.

Try FO Stuart or William. They have recorded for RC4 as well. Stuart is actually one of the RC4 original voice actors.
