Three Grumpy Simmers - The Early Access Myth

Recommended Posts

Thought this was an Interesting conversation:

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

And in the other side of the coin, sometimes, users put a lot of pressure for a release. So some devs release the product ahead of time.

Personally, I always wait until I feel my products are ready .

Which I can understand. We are not the most patient people...

Yes, so true.  I am only likely to do that with a core sim, depends on how much clout the company has.  If PMDG came out with a product in my niche, say a single pilot certified biz jet, in my price range which is a bit lower than theirs but that is not to disrespect their quality, because those who buy from them feel they get their money's worth for what they want, a systems driven aircraft, I would buy early access because I know they stand behind their product.  Carenado/Alabeo I am more reluctant to, because of minor quibbles, like Alabeo did not fix an errant rate of climb indicator in their Cardinal and another model.  They tried to fix it, but it never read properly and could confuse the pilot if one was a chaser of that needle, which I used to stabilize the aircraft at the sweet spot, pitching for cruise then laying off the throttle to level off in AC equipped with no autopilot.  So I wait now on their releases for scuttlebutt, and except for Carenado's upcoming Embraer that seems to be stuck in development, I have not seen anything on the horizon or my wishlist.
