For Those Running Win10

Recommended Posts

See https://www.tomshardware.com/news/microsoft-update-ruins-gaming-performance,38761.html

Don't know if this affects P3D since I am on Win7 but thought you all might be interested.

Here is a quote from the article (first sentence): "Another day, another buggy patch from the flagship gaming OS. Windows 10 Update KB4482887, has been confirmed by Microsoft to severely hamper performance in certain games."

Dang its a huge update even.  IDK why they don't test things before they put them out.  😠

Thanks for the heads-up. Avoid yet another piece of 'word-not-allowed' from MS, it seems, like the plague!

I always like those catchy headlines with the comment "certain games" and then as a single and only example a single and only game (Destiny 2) is mentioned. Clickbait? Who knows...

Because they have us to be their unpaid beta testers.

And they're probably safe doing it, because while it should backfire and make people switch to a different OS, there's a *lot* of software (including p3d, but also including a lot of business software) that only runs on Windows.

Win7 was the last good OS from them. Win10 should be good, has the right structure to be good, but MS keeps messing it up by being unable to release updates that don't bork people's setups.

I am on the Insider Program on Win 10 Professional with the latest update and have had no issues with Prepard3D v4.4 even after 6 hour+ long hauls on the PMDG 747-800F, photoreal scenery, etc.
