Neat pictures!  I do think winglets were discussed previously but can't find where. However, based on my discussions with FSW, I would say modifying the FSW Falcon 50 for winglets is unlikely in the foreseeable future. For one thing, there are a number of higher priority projects still waiting in the 'wings'.

I have no idea what's involved with modifying the external model to add winglets.  But they do add lots of style to any plane.

Agree; and winglets also improve performance.

AFAIR only 50EXs have been retrofitted with winglets.

These are called Spiroid winglets, and there's actually a pretty interesting story behind them. One that is very, very telling of how things work in the business aviation world. Many hours of flight and wind tunnel testing have shown that Spiroid winglets are, without a doubt, the most efficient and effective winglet design ever produced. Basically, they work better than any other winglet to date.

So that begs the question, why doesn't everyone have them? Why isn't Aviation Partners Inc. making a bloody fortune off the people lining up to buy them?!? The answer?

 

They look funny.

 

The Spiroid winglet was so "out there" from an aesthetic standpoint, that they failed to gain any real traction. Aircraft owners and operators would rather forego the fuel savings and added efficiency than put the odd looking winglet on their airplanes. Go figure.
