Sequential or random read specs?

When reading reviews about storage devices like SSD`s, is sequential read or random read speed more important, or otherwise stated, does the computer perform sequential or random read when reading textures files while flying for instance?

I would think it does a mixture of both, especially with hyper-threading engaged. Some files require sequential loading and at same time some loads are random, but each operation does have to wait for being able to access CPU time. The thing is the CPU speed dictates as to whether or not you notice any of this. (the SSD in comparison to legacy hard drive does speed this up quite a bit) A bit closer to your question, seems random read might be a bit more important.

Honestly, neither is really "important" since P3D does lookahead buffering of the scenery and the files are already preloaded into RAM well before they are needed.  For extensive use of massive photoscenery files, sequential read performance could come into play.
