SimElite Time Zone Fixer/FS Realtime

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have been trying to figure out how these two apps work together. What I gather, both are needed to perform their stated functions.

However, I see FS Realtime has it's own time zone functionality.

A short and sweet overview is appreciated.

FSRealtime consists of an application that keeps the time in you simulator synched with real time, and a set of (outdated) time zone files in bgl format. TimeZoneFixer installs up-to-date bgl files. Just don't install the bgl files of FSRealtime, but run the application while you are flying. That's all you need to do.

FSRealTime won’t be necessary if you use clock sync in paid version of FSUIPC.

Does it work the same way by reloading the sim? I disliked this feature of fsrealtime as it seemed to always do it at the worst possible moment. I understand the time zone fixer is a BGL based option that simply fixes the time zones in the sim without reloading anything.

Question: if I fly on a Wednesday evening from YSSY to ZSPD with the QWsim 787, but I am situated close to LSZB (Berne, Switzerland), what does FSUIPC clock sync help me? Can FSUIPC clock sync avoid the wrong time zones in default P3D anyhow? Or, more specifically, if I start in YSSY at 5pm local time and I fly towards ZSPD, will FSUIPC clock sync correct the wrong time throughout the flight although my rig sits in a complete different time zone? Or does this mess up everything?

I don't think so. It's just a quick fix to keep the aircraft time synced to the PC time.

Best to ask Pete in his forum. No, it won't do as you want. It's just a simple time correction feature. Or you could read the manual if you have FSUIPC. It's all explained in that.
