This was just anounced by Oculus.

There are, however, some important details missing (like screen resolution...).

Infos here:

Some more technical information in this video:

Hmm, the resolution of 1.440 x 1.280  per eye is a little disapointing. I will not go this route...

I´ll  jump in since I´m still with the "old" rift, but I´m not sure If I would get one if I had the odyssey+.

A bit disappointed with the resolution, but the experience with oculus till now has been smooth so I´ll stick to them.

Cheers

I have the Odyssey Plus, and while I'm satisfied with the visuals, I absolutely hate the controllers and the software. Plus, for me it's not the most comfortable headset. All of which is to say that I'm actually interested in this new Rift.

I'm probably getting it. The resolution is not a problem for me, even in the current Rift. I never really understood people's hang-ups with resolution and how anyone can prefer a 2D screen over VR. The S is an improvement even in this area so all good for me.

Don't forget that the tracking with this should be more solid than any of the wmr based devices as it uses 5 tracking cameras rather then just 2. I have a wmr and the old rift. I will definitely be jumping to this.

I will most certainly be getting one ASAP. Having two VR capable PCs and two headsets means I can take my kids "flying"!

Courtesy of some evil swine, I can't do it in the real world.....

This Thursday?

That's the speculation, as it's the anniversary of the release of the original Rift.

Even as we speak, people out there are refreshing their browsers again and again, hoping to snap one up first..... 😊
