Xplane 11 GNS430 not tracking correctly with Reality XP 530W enab

Featured Replies

Not sure if anyone has experienced this. I have the Reality XP GNS530W configured as my #1GPS in the stock Xplane 11 C172 and the Xplane 11 GNS430 is #2. I also have a  Realsimgear GNS530 unit connected (works well). I have a current 1903 Navgraph database installed for the stock 430.  When the  Reality XP 530 is enable the stock  Xplane 11 GNS430 will track the gps location changes. The display aircraft remains at the initial point. Changing directions seems to work.  If I attempt to do a cross fill from the 530 to the 430, it get some coordinate values but not a proper flight plan exchange. Suspect there are issues between the Garmin trainer database used by Reality and the stock or navgraph database used by the Xplane 430.

If I disable the 530 and allow the stock 530 in Xplane operate, the problems goes away. The stock gps in the sim operate as expected.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Richard

Hi Richard,

Whenever you use a RXP GTN/GNS V2, this disables the stock FMS/GPS. This is expected and how XP11 is designed. Also there is no cross-fill feature between the RXP GNS V2 and the stock GPS. However there is an option to "Update Simulator GPS Waypoints" which updates the stock FMS/GPS flight plan live so that you can display the active route on 3rd party EFIS gauges when these are using the stock FMS/GPS flight plan data for display.

Ok. That explains what l suspected

thanks

Besides, we're preparing an update release for tomorrow if all goes well, which fixes (so far) the last A/P coupling issues identified. It also fixes a bug introduced in the last update which prevents activating the default GPS keys even though the GNS V2 "Use Simulator GPS Commands" is disabled.
