Ilyushin Il-76MD in P3D v3.4

Recommended Posts

Has anybody managed to install the Ilyushin Il-76MD (either the Monumentum or the one available at avsim.su) in Prepar3D v3 with a fully working VC and 2d panels? I am finding that clickspots do not work on the 2D panels and also the VC with this aircraft in Prepar3D v3.4. A Russian gentleman has a very good tutorial in English on YouTube which explains navigation with the Il-76. His video demonstrates a workable Il-76MD in Prepar3D v3, but when asked by myself on the web page concerned, he does not recollect how he installed the aircraft but may well respond later if there are any tricks required to get the aircraft working.

You will probably have to install the legacy SimConnect client that the gauges of the aircraft were built with. Your best bet is the FSX Acceleration SimConnect (FSX-SP2-XPACK). The installers are here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\redist\Interface

Best regards

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately installing the legacy SimConnect client has not changed anything: the clickspots are not available.

Then it is probably one of the others, especially if the addon is old. Make sure that the gauges that this aircraft needs are actually there in the \gauges\ folder of P3D. Also, turn on the content error log (P3D options) and take a look at it. There may be some hints in there about what the simulator doesn't like. At least I think that this already existed in P3D V3...

Update on the above: the Il-76MD is compatible in P3D v1 but not in P3D v2 and v3. The Russian author of the YouTube video tutorial (in English and very good too) claims that everything works in all versions of P3D with the exception of P3D v4, but is yet to jog his memory as to how he achieved this in P3D v3. Perhaps with a little patience he may provide the necessary advice for those who wish to use the Il-76MD in P3D v3.
