When you install the new client it will set shaders back to default reflections might be a different thing ofc.

Chase plane is not yet compatible. Active Sky build 7035 is working. FSUIPC 5.151 works

woohoo now fslabs can release their update

If that was their reason for holding back. We shall see.

Update from FSLabs - I am happy to reveal that it's exactly what we had been waiting for. The next step is that we will give our beta testers a compatible version tonight and a couple days to let us know nothing is broken (as is usual in every P3D minor version release) and then we'll push it out for all to enjoy!

Reading through the change list, does anyone else besides me see nothing there compelling enough to jump right in and break things before all the add-on devs have a chance to test/update their stuff?  I still not-so-fondly remember updating to v4.2 only to discover that the simconnect menu selection system had been broken and anything that needed to use selections via simconnect (GSX, Radar Contact, etc) stopped working correctly.  It didn't get fixed until v4.3 released like four months later.

So, unless you're big into multiplayer or VR, what's in this version that justifies risking those unknowns to upgrade right now on release day?

Regards

I'll certainly wait for a couple of days, but faster loading of stuff like ORBX TrueEarth will make me upgrade soon.

Kind regards, Michael

As per the changelog, Lockheed fixed the issue where autodiscovery addons were being placed into the wrong add-ons.cfg (ProgramData) - and forgotten there, even when deleted/uninstalled. Could be that this is biting us now, depends on how they fixed it, and how the already misplaced addons are supposed to travel to the correct add-ons.cfg (AppData\Roaming). Not sure yet. We may have to manually remove all autodiscovery addons from the \ProgramData\…\add-ons.cfg and let P3D sort it out on the next startup (= all addons where the add-on.xml is in \Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\).

Personally, I would never recommend to delete the scenery.cfg - that makes the user lose all his custom sceneries in there, since P3D can't rebuild those custom entries. If there is a problem, it is not the file itself but a scenery in it - and there are other ways to troubleshoot that.

Best regards

So what do we do : remove the auto Discovery addons ? ( backup the “old” add-ons.cfg file )

Anyone has tried it ?

FSlabs said the pop-ups will be removed in this next version because users were tired of it making changes to their systems. Like past updates I would remove the FSlabs until they release a 4.5 compatible version.
