P3d 4.5 loading issues

Recommended Posts

The only other 'maybe' relevant info I can think of. I install P3D to: i:\Prepar3d instead of the default C:\Program Files location. I use a separate SSD drive for P3D.

Right,

Just trying to find out what it is, what version of Windows you 2 have?

If this doesn't work we can do a teamviewer to attempt to fix the problem.

Regards

Simbol

I use Windows 10 which is showing as up-to-date.

I install to the default folder and have P3D installed on an SSD with Windows 10 Pro OS

Right,

Rob Ainscough just suggested that maybe Spotlights didn't uninstall completely.

He is asking to check your Windows Services and locate anything that says FSLabs or Spotlights.

Checked the Services for anything FSLabs related and nothing running. I cannot believe we are the only two on the planet with this problem!

I am inclined to agree that a clean reinstall is probably the preferred option, but in this case there appears to be something rather more fundamental at stake.

Ok just finished the complete re-install. Vanilla P3D 4.5.. all traces of previous installation were removed (except for the windows registry) and same issue. No addon's installed, this is completely vanilla. This is from the newly download setup also.. not the individual installers.

So...

Is there something in the windows registry that could be the issue?

Can we check this please:

- Open regedit, e.g. via Windows Run (Windows + R)
- Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Avalon.Graphics
- Right click in right pane of regedit window (where column Name, Type, Data are)
- Click new DWORD (32-bits)
- Name this new value 'DisableHWAcceleration'
- Give it value 1 (double click on the newly created DWORD line)

Has anybody mentioned ANTIVIRUS software as a possible culprit?

There was a guy earlier having problem with 4.5 and AVAST free edition, but it was causing problem with the install.

Do you guys use AVAST?

I use Kaspersky Internet Security. I have tried the registry fix and also turning off the anti-virus with the same result, i.e. no startup screen.

Sure, I tried this.. no change sadly.

Also on this PC I simply use Windows Defender.
