[Answered] Strobe lights are on all the time

Recommended Posts

Hello,

After downloading the FSReborn Lights, I've really enjoyed the improved realism with the brightness of lights and patterns on aircraft. I am using FLAI as model matching for vatsim. I noticed however that a lot of aircraft will be parked up at stands, engines off, or just taxiing, with their strobes on. This didn't happen before installing FSReborn Lights and I'm wondering if this a common issue with other users.

Any solutions to this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Acerazus,

What you are experiencing is because before the strobes were not visible at all (they disappear after 500 or 800 meters) , and now they are very visible since my freeware corrects a fault with the P3D default strobes.

The strobes shows enabled for these users due to:

A) Some users enable all the lights when they taxi, not much anybody can do for this.

B) Some users connect from a different client as P3D (FSX, Xplane, etc.), as under these circumstances  Vpilot miss represents the lights settings in your sim.

We discussed this with the VPilot  developer as we believed that he was using FSUIPC to transfers these variables, which would account for some users transferring the values correctly while others don't, however he claims he uses SimConnect to transfer this.

In any case, AI Lights Reborn free edition is a "passive" add-on, it doesn't interact with VATSIM or your simulator variables, all it does is provide a replacement effect, this means when any airplane indicates it will turn on the strobes, the simulator will use the FSReborn strobes instead, we do not order P3D to enable or disable lights.

On the contrary, the professional edition of the product which is still under BETA, is an active add-on, meaning it does interact with the simulator and accordingly it will include an option to try to manage the Vpilot misplacing of lighting variables for users that flight online on this network.

Kind Regards,
Simbol
