More than likely He is saying Rad Alt, as in "Radio Altimeter" has come alive and is now displaying on the PFD, It used to be a company standard call by the PNF on the A320, but the difference was on the bus it displayed at 2500' AGL and may well be case here on the Trippler, I'd Start looking in that direction for the answer anyway.
