Arthur, does this require a complete uninstall of the old version and reinstall of v1.2.4.0....??

If that's the case I suppose you'll lose all of your'e installed liveries..??

I have about a dozen or so, and re-installing that many liveries is a bit of a chore..

I take it the managed speed bug isn't fixed yet.  (Where the plane just falls out of the sky.)

Is there any information re: minimum/required version of P3D?? Still v4.4 or is v4.5 now required?

If you have the liveries installed and working correctly you only have to make backups using the Livery Manager - unistall the old version - install the latest and then use the Livery Manager to reinstall the liveries .

The only other way to do this is to copy the entire textures folder ( for each model/type) and copy the [fltsim=XX] entries ( only ) in the aircraft.cfg then replace them when the new version is installed . Repalcing the entire aircraft.cfg would overwrite any changes made to it so not recommended .

Well I tried that, but attempting to run the updater on my system results in the following message from the updater screen under the A318/A319 Professional tab....

Only regular updates are available for installation

Installed version: 1.2.3.1
Available version: 1.2.4.0 / RTM
Update Description:

*** A NEW INSTALLER IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS PRODUCT. ***
*** PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT FROM YOUR SHOP ACCOUNT! **

I've downloaded the installer but haven't run it yet, i'm going to take a look at the Aerosoft forum first before proceeding.

I will just uninstall old/reinstall new rather than use the updater.

This falling out of the sky thing -- I've never encountered it in about 100 hours.  Sounds fun though.

Probably the best idea Mace, i'll just use the backup feature of the livery manager as suggested earlier in the thread.

As for the falling out of the sky thing... Don't know if it sounds like fun, but it's certainly a great way to test your recovery from "unusual attitudes" skills....😁

I just did a flight identical to one where I had the managed speed bug and didn't encounter it. However it's a very unpredictable bug so I'm not going to rule it as fixed quite yet.
