GSX update on the way

No, our goal is to release it before the end of the month but, as usual, any bug found at the very last minute could delay a release.

Fingers crossed here....🤞

Regardless of when it's released exactly, it will be worth the wait. 😎

Interestingly, though, the FSDT product download page for GSX was just changed to show that the last GSX update was 13 gia (Jun) 19...not sure if that's significant or not.  AFAIK, it's been static since Dec 2018, so maybe...maybe...something is about to shake loose?

I have a question regarding performance.. I notice that when i'm on final to a large airport, there is a long pause (stutter) which is when the airport loads.. some youtubers call this long pause as "oh gsx is loading" and its almost a 1 to 2 second pause at large airports.. the only way to differentiate between airport loading and gsx loading is if there was a way to deactivate gsx from addon menu and do the test.. is that possible? i dont want to uninstall it.. just deactivate from within the sim and be able to activate it again after landing.. is there a checkbox that lets me do that?

has anyone got any advice on how to mitigate the long pause on final approach? could be the airport loading or gsx loading.. can i play with LOD radius so that i can control how far out on the approach i'm letting the airport to load?

You can remove the add-on.xml for gsx from your my documents\prepar3d addons folder temporarily and start p3d

So, any word on L2 and AI compatibility? As beautiful as the models are it’s still too great a loss in realism to give up AI jetway docking at large airports.

Is this ever actually going to be released? Last official word I saw was they were hoping to release it by the end of the month...of May! It's now June 16th.

Anything?

Well obviously they are finding things that need fixing. They don't deliberately delay things to piddle people off. Just exercise some patience. The existing version still works.

Hmm, you know there's that other ground services add on thats been in development forever and, being that I grow very weary of waiting on it, maybe I consider this.

I think you can safely assume AES will never see the light of day in P3D. Oliver now answers support questions on the Aerosoft forums.
