Why are those fixed drivers not available on Nvidia website?

Hi Tomaz,

Not sure, but P3D v4.5 runs well on 430.53 on updated W10 with OCed 1080 GTX.

Kind regards,

I agree with this.  The 430.53 is the best so far.

Just wondering, what do we gain from updating drivers? I haven't updated drivers in the last 4 or 5 years, yes you read correct, and I don't have any idea if, or what, I have missed out on something. So honestly (and I mean it seriously) why do people update drivers everytime a new one comes out? I think my sim (P3Dv4.3) runs pretty smooth and looks OK graphic wise, so I don't feel I have any reason to update drivers (yet).

I'm running 397.64. Every time I try to update drivers I regret it, it has been without fail a disaster. Every. Single. Time. I don't even bother anymore.

I'm using 430.39 without any problems.  I just let nVidia do the automatic install.

What card do you have? Do you always use the "clean install" advanced option in the driver installer?

1080. I've tried both ways, every which way imaginable really. And every single time it gets screwed up. I've updated and gone back to 197.64 probably 5-6 times, then I finally got smart. I'd love to update, but I just don't want to waste the time anymore for the same result I always get.

I assume you mean 397.64. Even staying with that makes no sense to me.

Improvements to drivers made by Nvidia are worth having for the most part, although sometimes it is one step ahead and two steps back, but rarely.

I usually update with each opportunity and recommend accordingly. After all, this really isn't about flying airplanes, but playing with advanced super powerful computers with ever more graphic rendering capabilities.

Drivers are at the core of what makes our virtual world work better and better!

Of course, exceptions apply!

What problems do you have? Have you tried using Display Driver Uninstaller (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) to completely remove your previous driver before installing the new one?

You gotta understand, I'm the guy who updates everything. I keep my phone, iPad's, computer, etc., updated. Everything except graphics drivers, because I swear, it always gets screwed up. Always. And I always have to revert back. And 397.64 is what works.

But you guys have convinced me. I'm going to try it... again. Will report back.
