Just curious...could an AI problem spit out an api.dll crash or would that be related to something else.

I'm going to try your forum. I have no idea of how to post an upload here.

very good question xD you can simple test it as the AI is on date/time alway the same, try to recreate it, if it does not happen again then it is not the AI. If it is happening again, you should start "debugging"

saw it and already have a possible fix for you.

@everyone: If you have problems with the new soundpack: All errors we had so far are related to a faulty download from the AVSIM Servers, you can fix this yourself:

go to:

C:\ProgramData\AIGTech\AIGAIM\temp_model\
and check if a file called "aitrsp16.zip" is there, if yes then delete it and start the run the test again, the other work around is to download the ZIP manually and place it in that directory

That worked!

Had to "add temp_model" folder. Downloaded aitrsp16.zip and placed it in the folder and ran the test again. The AI sounds were added to the sound folder and soundai info to sundai folder.

Thanks.

I find that the sound levels for AI are usually far too high -- they drown my own aircraft cockpit sounds -- so I've adjusted most of those CFGs. I suppose this action will put them all back high again?

Perhaps in a future version you could allow the user to select the sound level (as a % perhaps of what is set as default).

Probably a silly question but... how does one adjust the sound levels of the AI? I find they’re a little low 😁 sorry to be a little off topic

Did all the above, including verify/update with an eventual "verify check done"  response, yet each time I get a warning that one of my models is outdated.

How can I cure that?

Edit:

Apparently all the repaints got deleted...that's EVERYTHING! although they still appear in the GUI. Any way for a bulk-reinstall?

In each operating "soundAI.cfg" (I say 'operating' because a lot are just liks, "alias" ing the sound to another file), the are lines

OutsideConeVolume=4800

These appear for each of the engine sound modes, but i think the overall control is by the one in the [FLTSIM] section.

The maximum value for OutsideConeVolume=10000 . The sound pack that AIGM is using has most of the jet sounds set between 8800 and 9400, so setting the value higher is only going to have a marginal effect. The engine sound slider also controls the AI engine sounds, so setting that slider to the max will make the AI engines sound louder. But you will have trouble hearing them over the user aircraft's engines. The only way of really making the AI engine sounds significantly louder is to use a sound editor and amplify the volume of each WAV file.

Does anyone know what a good traffic density setting is to prevent fps drop.  There is some fps drop when using AIG, it is understandable as AI being used but what is a good setting which has a compromise with small fps loss and good amount of AI

That is completely down to each user and their system. Randomize between 1-100% and set the traffic to what ever works for you.

Thanks for the replies. While I appreciate that’s it’s probably not realistic to hear the AI engines too much from inside the cockpit, I just feel it would provide a little more “atmosphere “
