v4.5 hotfix inbound...

Recommended Posts

According to the LM forums, we should get the hotfix for v4.5 this Tuesday: https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=133420

I am really wondering what this hotfix will do on my end, as I did not observe any FPS loss thanks to my internal 30FPS limit. In the ideal case, I will have even better FPS than now on heavy airports, where I do not manage to get those 30FPS in all cases (also did not get them in v4.4)? I doubt... What I really hope nevertheless: that LM does not change the wonderful night lighting back. It is phenomenal how far the street lights are visible in v4.5 and it would really be a disappointment, if the hotfix would change this back to v4.4 distance. Anyway, we will see, if it fixes the FPS loss for many of us, it will be a great hotfix.

That came from another user on the LM forums, not from LM.  And it looked pretty tongue-in-cheek to me.

I can't official word of this anywhere. And I would be one of the first to know.

Yeah, wouldn't put too much into that statement from a user. Although, I'd really appreciate it if that hotfix would drop soon.

Ok, then sorry for this wrong information. I thought those people were serious about it. Why else you would post something like this, purposely misinforming others, strange attitude of some.

Jorge is a Avsim user and OZx developer. I am surprised he made that statement.

And agree with others, his statement has no foundation and he is not linked to LM.

An official reply was posted by Kayla:

"Hello,

We cannot discuss any release dates for Prepar3D updates.

Thank you for understanding.

Regards,
Kayla"

So that brought us no closer to an answer 😛

Hi Folks,

at least active sky has a new beta out now. I'm quite confident that this patch covers P3Dv4.5 HF1 compatibilty.

So, stay tuned...

Let me clarify for those who don't get the joke:

"It will be available on Tuesday" is a catchphrase taken from the opening scene of "Star Trek: Generations" in which Cpt. Kirk, Chekov and Scotty are a part of the VIP delegation on the maiden flight of the Enterprise NCC-1701 B.

The totally unexperienced Captain has to refer to multiple systems not being installed before next Tuesday, as this maiden flight is just a press stunt. The "On Tuesday" then evolves into a running gag in the opening scene, as multiple systems that are needed in an upcoming emergency are unavailbale due to their upcoming installment "on Tuesday".

Lol, I love the video.

In the meantime, we are still testing the HF as we want to be sure you guys don't moan again saying how bad we beta tested P3D.

So you will need to wait.. and before you ask, I am not sure which “Tuesday" it is as per the former joke.

Referring to us as "moaning again" might not be the best thing to say.  Hopefully, we are all experienced at flight simulation and getting the product that we pay for.  If the hotfix "ain't right", I think you will hear us vociferate our concerns about getting the best product for our hard earned money.

Hi Stan,

You have the right to ask what you pay for, absolutely.

However my message is directed at those that were attacking the Beta team and basically blaming us for the performance problems with 4.5.

Maybe you are right and it is not the best way to say it and I apologise if it offended you. I guess I wrote in a way that revealed my frustration in regards how people treated each member of the P3D beta cycle with their comments and attacks without fully understanding the process involved.

Well with all due respect you made a right hash with the last one. At least they acknowledged it which is more than other developers would do.

Out of interest is it a small exe fole type patch or a new installer?

Things happen. Sure looks like they're trying their best to get it right with this hotfix. I too am hot to trot to get a fresh install  happening.
