FSX:SE Vectored close to CumuloGranite and a rubbish landing

Inbound to Nairobi - Jomo Kenyatta Intl. Mountains looking a bit close before being given the ILS intercept..

Rubbish landing - too much float (yes an MD-11 can float - at least in the sim with a relatively light load lol) and off centreline... bah!

Mark: Looks good to me..., and, most importantly, congrats on finishing this "long" voyage...! I hope you took a few SIM "Pauses" to have your meals delivered to the flight deck.......Seriously, the MD11, as I understand, is a bit finicky even in RL on landing, and in my PMDG MD-11, if I mess with automation in any way (after configuring it for ILS), it's very hard to recover control....at least for me...(reminds me, I should fly that thing one more time...)...

Thank you P-7878 -  yes a few breaks were taken. Sometimes I exploit the ATC bug in that when told to contact a particular centre I switch to that centre but do not contact them. That way she continues on her merry way following the magenta line without ATC wanting me to reply or cancelling my flightplan. 

I'm sure you know this, but use the stab trim to help you, try pitching for airspeed and use throttle for rate of descent (you may need to mix the two depending upon how slow you get) Keep a bit of speed on. The PMDG bird will give you the necessary approach speeds I believe, thanks to it having a proper FMC, if you've taken the time to input the proper info. I have never yet done much with an FMC - my virtual planes don't possess a "proper" one.
