FSLabs A320 disconnecting autopilot in turbulences

Recommended Posts

Hi,

does anyone experience the same annoying problem that the FSLabs A320 is disconnecting the autopilot in turbulences?

Is this behaviour realistic and does the real plane do this as well?

Is there any trick to avoid this ?

Thank you!

Best regards Andi

Andi,

Do you use ASP4?

If you do use ASP4, Did you read the FSL manual with the setting to use with ASP4?

Which particular Manual is that in, David, as I have 4 of  them in my FSL A320 Documents folder?

Or read this topic.

FWIW, I have these AS settings and have modified the EFCS options and still receive frequent AP disconnects--

Then you need to get support from FSL

I leave my AS settings on normal and just deal with the occasional disconnect.

It happens to me mostly when speedbrakes are extended

How severe is the turbulence? In the real thing, high speed excursion (beyond VMO/MMO) or excessive low speed excursion (below ‘alpha prot’, angle of attack threshold of alpha protection law activation) will induce Autopilot disconnection and activation of the appropriate manual flight control law. There is something called "autopilot robustness" that is part of the software package as well on the real thing.
