Will the delay to the VISTA launch (the BBC news says until new year 2007)have a knock on effect for FSX?RegardsMark

You might want to look at the sticky post at the top of this forum.Doug

I can't beleive that article is implying that there will be two version of FSX. I am tempted to put a wager on that there won't be two versions!

One thing I have always noted is that everyone has an agenda which colours the advice they give. Flightsim.com seem to be over pushing the fact that there are wonderful releases coming out for FS2004 and to forget FSX for sometime.Who is going to forget FSX even in an XP release? There are many aspects which may have been improved over FS2004 for XP so why keep to FS2004 for XP when you could have FSX for XP ?Agendas, Agendas! I take such advice with a pinch of salt.I am far from an expert on computers but maybe MS could release parts of Vista which would improve FSX? and have those parts on the FSX release.I believe the MS team are already testing FSX on Vista? My advice would be to have both if an FSX for XP was released. I would then ditch FS2004 when I felt FS2004 was outdated and inferior in comparison and only then.Peter

Nothing there is "official" however. And as Peter says below, one has to always consider the agenda at work regardless of the source.Doug

And you also need to always read articles with the motivations of the author in mind.I was a little surprised when the author of the article above said that they hadn't seen anything spectacular about FSX. The additional scenery so far shown is lightyears beyond the default of FS9. And the planes look great from the few pictures we have seen. The author also spent an inordinate amount of time in the article discussing FS9 addons and how FS9 will be around for a long time to come.I'm not saying they are wrong to suggest waiting, but I'll be surprised if there will be a huge difference between the 32 bit and 64 bit version of FSX (if there will even be a 64 bit version). To me, at $40-$60, it may be worth purchasing FSX-32 and then FSX-64 6 months later. I'll bet there will at least be a discount if not a free upgrade.I'm assuming that Vista will still be able to run 32 bit programs?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

I guess that it is a good job FSX does not need Vista:http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30516You never know the extent of the truth of this sort of story but I wouldn't put any money on any launch date for Vista at the moment.Chris
