Hello from Nuvigil

Hello AVSIM!

I'm new to the community. My earliest memories of FS was, I think, Flight Simulator 98 at my grandfather's house. Eventually I was playing FS2000, and distinctly remember the memory of "Insert disk 2 of 4" when 2004 A Century Of Flight came out. (Cue classic FS main-screen music). Then of course FSX, years later FSX:SE for the multiplayer, and now after college I'm using P3D. Oh, and Microsoft Flight. What a joke that was.

Just getting into VATSIM now, and the community seems bigger than ever. Can I ask a question on my welcome post?

I know from the PMDG tutorials that temperature affects engine performance. Does the altimeter also affect engine performance?

Welcome to the AVSIM forums!  Questions are always welcome...some answers, not so much!  PMDG tutorials?  737, 747, DC-6??  Altimeter or are you referring to altitude affecting engine performance?  At the higher altitudes there is less O2 for the jet engines, which may affect performance and you have to lean the piston engine fuel mixture for better performance.

Awaiting the new Microsoft Flight Sim and the purchase of a new system.  Running a Chromebook for now!
