Finally I myself compared 2080Ti and 1080Ti

Recommended Posts

I game with 4k. On the ground /final approach with complex airliners my 2080ti gave me significantly more stable fps and obviously increased GPU headroom compared to my old 1080ti.

Since i live in northern Europe, 90% of my sim time is not in day light during winter season. P3D dynamic lights hammered my 1080ti in 4k with big fps fluctuations

And I know how ridiculous it sounds that a 1080ti is insufficient.

Its not ridiculous , Its true with a system like yours the 1080TI is bottlenecking its a nice card but not close to a 2080TI

It's true - if your looking to upgrade - go the CPU way.  At least until the next gen cards start to come out.

Before the 2080Ti I used two 1080Ti boards in SLI to get around the same level of performance.  The 1080Ti is a good card, but I couldn't throw the whole kitchen sink at it like I can with the 2080Ti.

Oh yea, now I see the difference but need to find a descent price... oh well next build for me is coming.

From what I see here, apart from some low 20s, the 2080Ti was near 30 and over while the 1080Ti was in the low 20s, sometimes even thigh teens. Not sure why the bottom line would be no difference between the cards. Others have already pointed out the autogen difference.

I upgraded myself from a 1080Ti to a 2080Ti and don't get why so many people seem to have been certain, when the 2080Ti was released, that it wouldn't benefit P3D in any way.

So does this thread agree that there isn't a lot between an 1080ti and 2080ti but the 2080ti is best because it does everything faster?

There is a pretty significant difference that allows you to run higher graphics settings.

Guys, this was my first test. I'm going to do some more checks. I had 1080Ti SLI. Now deleted one 1080Ti  and replaced with 2080Ti.  It remains only to switch the monitor)))

To be honest, the video was of such poor and fuzzy quality I wasn't impressed with either one of 'em. In fact, I am still unsure which was which!

That said, I have a 1080Ti with 11GB VRAM and am quite happy with it!

Ah, the cognitive dissonance dislayed amongst the 2080Ti owners...😂 Jokes aside, I have seriously considered upgrading my 1080Ti but would rather concentrate on a CPU/MB upgrade first. Regards.

Can one get a 2080Ti with 11GB of ram or only 8GB?

I think most (if not all) 2080Ti's have 11gb DDR6.

My EVGA 2080Ti which I purchased factory direct has 11gb, and as far as I know EVGA doesn't offer any 2080Ti's with less than 11 gigs.

Interesting comparison for both "Nuclear Powered" Graphics cards. A very subtle difference between the two though personally I wouldn't mind a 2080 or a 1080 for that matter 😀. I do notice a few micro stutters on both versions but i guess this is always the case with P3D or at least it will be until they bring our a new rendering engine.
