I can’t find the response from Dave right now but he had said that non towered airports will not support the unicom. I hope that I am remembering that correctly.

What airport are you at and what frequency are you using?  It's possible the Center is out of range and cannot be reached while you're on the ground.

Does Speech Assistant work at other airports with other controllers?  Could be a data file missing if not.

Are you using version 2600R3 of Pilot2ATC?

Dave I'm trying to fly out of KDRO (Durango-La Plata, Colorado) which is part of the Denver ARTCC and your supposed to use 118.575 to reach Center but off the bat it starts out at 132.10 I tried last night and it works at towered airport with a tower controller I have the most recent version Dave

Hmmm.

I just went to KDRO and it does set freq to 132.1 when I first connected, not sure what's going on there but when there's no controllers, it does get confused sometimes and does not set the correct initial frequencies.  In this case, it should have set the radio to 120.625 initially.  I'll look into that.

But I switched to ASOS on 120.625, got the weather, then to 118.575 for Center and was able to get clearance.  SayIt phrases showed up normally.

Give it another try with a fresh start of Pilot2ATC.  See if you get connected to a controller.  Be sure the Power indicator is Green and that the Connect was complete.
