Slow Airport Texture Loading

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am pretty happy with my sim performance (specs in sig) however the only thing bugging me is slow airport texture loading when panning when airborne (airport loads in batches).

It happens in specific airports like FSDT KDFW, LatinVFR KMIA & Imaginesim KATL (mostly big airports).

What setting should I play with in order to get this resolved?

Using P3D v4.4 on Win 7.

Thanks!

Shom

Try adjust Scenery_draw_distance= to 64000.00 instead of default 32.000 and see if it helps in P3d.cfg.

This setting reverse back to 32.000 if you make changes in the control/graphic settings inside P3D.

I Believe it do have a VRAM penalty though

So set it to 64 or 64000? Seems a big gap from 32.

I'm hoping the 1080Ti will cope with this...

btw what is the difference between this setting and the autogen draw distance and level of details radius sliders in P3D UI? I don't have those maxxed.

Thanks for the tip!

Using a decimal point is the continental way of writing 32,000. So use 64000.

You may find adding the line 'MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=320000.000000' will be more helpful.

A 1080Ti has 11Gb of VRAM, that's plenty!!

Ups correct , sorry my mistake

'MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=320000.000000'

The other i mentioned is for Autogen distance loading

Thanks guys, can you explain the difference between these 2 settings and the autogen draw distance and level of details radius sliders in P3D UI?
