You can use this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/ to downsample any textures on your PC, it also has the option to make a backup.

Thanks for the link kand but that site wants me to sign up.

I guess I'm not following. I looked at the .dds files and there all showing 2048x2048. I also see another folder with a ton of BMP.s.

I'll wait for one of the FlightSim guru's to put together a how to guide so I don't mess anything up. For now I just uninstalled.

User on Orbx forum saying it loads slower than default autogen. Just 1 report however....

The scenery pauses are now longer, on my system...

Looks very nice though

Just resize them Bert. Default 512, so anything higher, even 1024 will be sharper and slightly more taxing ...

I also want to change the size to 2K. Is there a free editor?

What about just letting P3D resize them..?

If I choose 2048 texture resolution in the sim, the new autogen still shows up..

Thats what I also have done.

As far as I know, doing this means that the textures will only be loaded at that size, so it´s not necessary to resize them, other than reducing the storage size on HDD or SSD.

With 2048 I made a test flight over Hamburg, and it ran smooth as always, but looked alot better.

Also autogen is very repetitiuous, but though there might be hundreds of the same building, the texture for those is only loaded once.

That's not good. Even with 2048 res?

The old rules still apply.. disable all the Orbx scenery that you are not currently using and the pauses are a lot shorter

Thanks. I'm already there. I'm going to wait a day or two before I decide on which version I'm getting.

Do any of these textures replace the textures on the default city buildings (the non-autogen buildings)?  I know some of them might be custom but most are pretty generic and look quite awful.  I've never used autogen buildings as I always though they looked a bit silly but trying to decide whether I should try this.  Thanks!

At ORBX's website there is a free manual of the product describing in detail what is affected and what's not.

I just noticed that the ORBX HD buildings installation replaced all the default terminal textures I had installed with REX Worldwide textures HD. The hangars it left alone. Anyone else notice this?

Does that actually work by resizing them?
