Good day. Being rather a "senior guy" in the community, I'm I missing something here? Is it a case of "not seeing the forest for the trees"? How on earth can the average "simmer" be required to become a programming specialist to use side by side products which have been paid for to work "out of the box"? Yes, I respect the inputs from the members of the community who are experts in programming and code. But really, to purchase products and then having to re-code them to be able to work just amazes me. It seem this is becoming a "norm". Thank to the guys such as Oliver, etc who come up with work arounds (greatly appreciated), but we as a community need to push hard on the developers who charge 'top Dollar" for their products and then expect the community to develop quick fixes. Anyway, that is my daily senior rant over and done with.🙄 Regards.

there is a tool for all of this which makes these things really easy - my P4AO. But I am always hesitant to post these operations in context with my tool (although it is freeware, so no TOS should be violated), so I only describe the solution in terms of how to do it manually.

But you are right of course. If every developer would just adhere to proper installation and referencing logic, all these cross-compatibility issues could be minimized. I really hate it if addons physically overwrite files in my simulator, and this issue here is the prime example of what can go wrong.

Thanks for your input to our community. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and it's amazing that people such as yourself (also AIG) produce such valuable products that I still can't understand being 'freeware"!

First and foremost it is about warranty/support. I couldn't provide support for a payware application as widely used and "dangerous" as this one. I only provide a hammer for everyone to use - but when it is payware, there are many people who think that I will build their house for them.

I'm hoping MSFS 2020 will put an end to developers who believe they are now "Gods" in our community and based on their monopolistic stance can treat customers in any fashion they wish. This is very evident in my part of the world and is very surprising for me to see this in so called "1st World" areas. I guess we are all the same wherever we are. Just different guises. 😉

clearly you have a mission, however, even the best developers can overlook things and inadvertently

or sometimes through necessity, introduce incompatibilities between products.

Even Microsoft themselves, who invented the FSX SDK, were not above making mistakes with it..

The answer is not to start ranting about "Gods" but to point out the problem and let the developers find a solution.

No one is suggesting that the solution to this recently discovered problem is for you to acquire skills

that you do not and do not wish to have, it is very kindly being offered as an interim here and I for one am

very grateful for the time and trouble taken to suggest it.

I got some unhelpful replies last time I said this, but here goes.  Please can developers just sell products that work.  I don't want to hear about forum fixes, these should be exceptions, not rules.  Any other products sold with the problem faced would be up against trade descriptions.   I'm off this topic now, so do what you will with my comments.

Hello @ll,

I'm sorry, but my solution that I posted earlier doesn't work (using P3D 4.5). Don't bother investing the effort. This is a little bit strange, I am pretty sure that multiple cascading texture replacements were possible before. So, short of physically replacing the offending texture files (if that really is the issue) there is nothing that the end user can do.

It seems to me that you are looking at two products here, REX airports and Orbx buildings, that were not designed to work together..

Some creative minds on the forum have figured out ways to make them coexist, but for the average simmer, I would suggest choosing one of the two products and installing it by itself.

Or accept the fact that some textures will not show the way you might prefer..
