Orbx released Global Buildings HD

If I set texture resolution to 2048, it doesn't load the lower resolution from the mipmap?

I'm in the same situation, as I have FTX Regions, but not FTX Global.

I compared screen shots, and the roofs definitely look different depending on which option is selected. Just wondering if it's safe to use Global mode inside FTX regions...

I used Default P3D mode, and the roofs look like they do in the demo.

I would image so.. there are 11 mipmaps for each 4k texture..

I made a few comparison shots of Global vs Default mode. Shots over various spots in FTX NA, regions only, no FTX Global installed.

The left image of each scene is Default, the right one is Global.

The only difference I can pick out is that the larger industrial/warehouse type buildings have a darker, split roof in Default mode and a more realistic (IMO), lighter roof in Global mode.

Thanks for looking in to that, I was getting the same that the industrial buildings have this split image.

I believe that I've read somwhere that ORBX Global Buildings does not replace all buildings in FTX regions because many were already modified by FTX itself.

That only applies to GEN and GES as well as the photoreal regions of the UK.

Night textures are gorgeous. Houses do look like houses, urban areas look real like never at night.
Day textures drastically enhance VFR flights but also airports vicinity for long haul flights.
I for one love this addon and won't fly without despite the light impact on fps.
