The "magic" of a NEW Config file

Another question, as i am curious about it:

Did someone do a detailed comparison of his/her old config-file and the newly generated One?

Because there must be a reason for this to work und no "magic" involved.

Looking forward to your answers.

It's not magic. Either you A) had a bad tweak in the CFG that your computer can't handle or B) the default display and graphics settings in the CFG are lower than what you selected before you re-generated the file. That's it.

it helped me get back to smoothness.  In my case same settings, so a corrupt tweak or something.

Do you have still both files available and could compare them with a Software designed for that?

Or you could upload it for others (me for example) to check it.

A) It would be great to know which "bad tweak" is the reason that P3D is not working correctly anymore (i also think that it's not a different tweak for every user, just a couple of the same things that could be avoided if known)

B) That should be possible to be changed in the normal options screen as well and shouldn't make it necessary to generate a new Config-File.

"or something": That's exactly the point, we (or you) want to know that "or something", because it has to be something specific (or as is said above, a couple of things) and not some mystic and/or magic thing that does it's thing.

Hello,

the magic is that the default version works.

The vast majority of tweaks are outdated and no longer relevant and some do in fact damage P3D.

The new tweaks elicit more out of the simulator but of course degrade performance because it is working harder.

All those settings have a purpose and give a person control over the sim at a much higher level than otherwise.

Essentaully they allow a person to tune the sim to their liking and performance.

And when tuning the use of comments and notes in the P3D config file is very useful for testing and reversion of any partciular setting.

Everything is a trade off though, better immersion and looks will use more resources.

Cheers
