Hope I can share this from Alan's Face Book,

Three weeks ago I returned back from holiday in Italy.

But I brought back Legionnaires disease......possibly from poor hotel water/AC cleanliness.

This lead to pneumonia and multiple organ failure. If it wasn’t for the excellent NHS I wouldn’t be writing this now.

Almost two weeks in a coma......but getting better every day. But still in hospital.

I just want to thank all who have gone the extra mile for me.....

......But most importantly I want to thank my friends who visited me even when I was unconscious.
My family who sat with me every day, I remember nothing though.

And especially my wonderful wife.

Live each day to the full......because you just never know......"

Thank you for sharing about Alan.  A strong spirit must be helping him, plus concerns from us simmers--just keeping someone in our thoughts helps them in their recovery, even when in a coma, as I once was, one is aware of those around you and their compassion and thoughts.  The mind is always aware of those who comfort and challenge it to recover as I learned after my concussion from a car accident early this year.  Even my ex wife rallied to my side out of her compassion, it is one's compassion that binds us as friends, and even in the least of us, there is compassion because compassion=the instinct for survival we all share, and for helping the helpless which we all share.
