Trim setting

Recommended Posts

I was wondering, where does FS2Crew get the information on how to set the trim for T/O? As I understood, it can't read the MCDU values I enter (as for the vspeeds) but I don't enter any MACTOW into the DEP-settings either.

Reason I'm asking is that the PM never sets the same value that I get through the performance calculation, it's always a little off. Do I have control over this?

Regards,

Stu

Hi Stu,

We're reading the Aircraft CG percentage using a stock variable in P3D itself via the P3D SDK.

Then we attempt to move the trim wheel X number of times based on that returned value.

It's a crude system and it will never be perfect-perfect.

But we try to get as close as we can given what's available to us.

Allright, thanks. Given the fact that you didn‘t have a FSL SDK you‘ve done a pretty good job, the differences are negligible.... I was just curios how it works.

Hello Everybody,

when i manually overriding the pitch trim setting from the PM during the before taxi flow it is always trimming back to that initial setting automatically until a certain point within the taxi flow. As the trim setting from the PM is not always matching the trim setting from the performance calculation this behavior could be a little bit irritating.

Could you advise until which point the PM has "Authority" over the pitch trim setting?

Greetings Michael

Sounds like you're triggering the PM's flow before GSX disconnects the Nose Wheel Steering lock. I noticed it does that when the lock isn't removed (basically before GSX is done unlocking it). When I wait until I hear "bypass pin removed", then the PM has no problem adjusting the trim wheel.
