Over Barcelona, Spain and the city looks amazing.

Living pretty close to Barcelona that got me drooling.

And yes, I guess the MFS team checks avsim 😅

Cheers

Carlos

Just not much for self promotion.

Then it's a good thing Microsoft is promoting you! 😄 😄

Is the “PS: Hint...” at the end a joke? If so I don’t get it

Maybe something about backwards compatibility?

That would be... interesting. Possibly similar to how XP10 aircraft can be used with the current XP11. Although not without some problems, which is why Carenado can charge full price for the v11 models.

Maybe not good news for those who are expecting a completely new sim written from scratch, with no legacy code. Also wouldn't be great news for 3rd party payware developers who (like the Carenado example above) probably wouldn't want the market diluted with legacy aircraft, so they can sell you new ones.

We'll just have to wait and see...

At this point in time, we don't know if there will be any legacy code, just because older products can be converted to work in the new sim doesn't mean that nearly everything code wise is new and uses modern practices.

He he, challenge accepted. Is it only me or does that Altocumulus layer look rather Cumulus in form? More like two layers of Cu... :)

The FSX bit at the end might hint at a conversion tool for FSX addons to import into FS2020.  I doubt old addons will be directly compatible as they'd want to start from scratch with the new sim, but developing a tool to convert old addons to the new format is certainly a possibility.

I would imagine that is what the hint is about. In the update, they mentioned in August there will be information regarding the SDK, 3rd party content and user generated content, so I am guessing it will provide some information about the direction that they will be going in terms of how the SDK will support conversion of some FSX add-ons. Hopefully this would be to clean up and modernize FSX add-ons so some can work within the new platform.

Nope, I saw it. Just not much for self promotion.

I'm very glad to read the roadmap announcement and what we can expect.

Now we must get ready for 50 pages of yea/nay comments and endless disection of each word in the release. 😁

TBF we are only dissecting the announcement because Microsoft have got us so excited with the announcement of a new MS Flight Sim, and we can't wait to get our hands on it.

I'm having hard time following 3 topics on the same announcement, you should lock some of these, its a mess

Vor 33 Minuten sagte Cepact:

Sie haben den Videoclip über Barcelona zu verlangsamen und zu beschleunigen.

Wir können das wirklich schlechten FPS bemerken, nicht mehr als 20, wette ich

No, look at the timeline below. The video does not play well. Seems to be a bad rendition.

"At 1:06AM text “no subscription”. Await further instruction."

"no subscription", maybe a hint at the pricing model?
