Navigraph Airac Cycle and VNAV

Recommended Posts

Fellow simmers, Greeting!!,

I am thinking of buying the TBM750 as I already own the Phenom 300 (with Navigraph expansion pack +SVS) from Carenado)

1) How do i UPDATE the database ( Airports, VORS, Intersections, Waypoints, SIDs, STARS,Approaches)  if I do NOT install GTN750 ?

2) Does the Autopilot panel have a functional VNAV button?

 Best Regards

 Hari

Hi Hari,

Do you mean the Carenado TBM 850?  If so, the nav database cannot be updated as far as I know with the default G1000.  The autopilot has a ALT button and altitude selection knobs. The selected altitude shows up on the G1000 PFD.  Let me know if you have any more questions.

Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder.

Thank you John, I was unaware that the TBM 750  has neither of the two features that i want in an aircraft.

I  cannot update the db with  the latest AIRAC cycle ( from Navigraph) to obtain current SIDS, Stars etc  Which means that I have to add The GTN 750/650 gauges and use that database

2. Without a VNAV button  on the autopilot panel ( Like the Phenom 300), I cannot  set the aircraft to automatically  descend along selected waypoints( at specific altitudes). I have do this manually.

Best Regards

 Hari

Hari -- you would have to purchase the expansion pack for the TBM 850....You keep calling it the TBM 750.....it is not a 750 🙂 -- Carenado requires it per bird they don't have a one purchase covers all.

2 -- As far as I know they never got the VNAV working.....I did the Bert Mod and put the Reality XP GTN 750 into the TBM 850 and it works much better....No VNAV but I can handle making the rest work much better doing that manually...
