There you are. No need for a new simulator.

Don't bother checking the DX10 box unless you have DX10 capable addons. DX10 runs faster than regular FSX but some things might not look right, and some things can look grainy.

Regarding the FSX Acceleration activation Error, Is there a limited number of times one can start FSX\Accl.? Before something else goes wrong ?

There is a limit, but it is quite usual, to stop sharing of the program.

SteveW  It's looking great with DX10 checked, no fall on FPS or graphics' anomalies.

DX10 looks a little better and runs a little faster.

So it seems, I don't understand your reply regarding the number of times FSX\Accel. can be started with the Activation Error Message; Sorry my hard head.

If you have an activation error it might be because of too many installs.

That can be reset, we used to call an auto-reply number and quote the serial number in the box..

You could search the error message as you see it in Google you can see what others do. Type in:

FSX Gold: 'your error message'

SteveW: Have done so, big hastle, for me at least, some say one must go to registry and fiddle around with a KEY, not much for it as I am not very comp. proned, as you might have noticed.Apparently the error starts when one installs Acceleration, quel domage!

I can send something to do it auto. But that can present other problems.

Instead can you try this...

Press Windows Key, type 'Run', press Enter.

In the Run box, type regedit.exe

Click OK. Agree to raise privilege.

Come back when you see the Registry Editor window, looks like a complicated Explorer window. Do nothing else.

That's right. Since you took ownership with your logon, you already have privilege. Remember so does anything that runs when you log in have access, malware, virus, trojan, rootkit all have access. Your PC might not be a good place to put in your Credit card or bank details.

You can find more about the registry item to look for on my site - scroll to the bottom of the page:
