I too have gone back to v3.................

What is the best way to get back to v3? Does it just have to be re-downloaded and everything re-installed?

I don't know if there is a best way. All I know is that OC messed things up so badly that I opted for a reinstall of everything with FTXC3. That seemed easier than trying to figure out what OC did and then having to find a way to fix it..........Doug

If you used it before you should have a installer on your pc. If you have not deleted it.

Is it still possible to buy and download new sceneries through Central 3? What I read, I‘ll wait with v4 but I‘m very interessted in LYBE which should be released soon.

Kind Regards

Good for you, so did I, but I am not back to my previous scenario loading times of 1 to 3 minutes, do you care to indicate what you did to revert to v3, here is what I did:

  • Uninstalled one by one all ORBX products on v4
  • Cleared any remaining files in the ORBX Libraries
  • Un-installed v4 through Windows 10
  • Installed FTX v3
  • Download and installation of all 30 products
  • All sceneries are correctly aligned and Vector properly configured as it was before
  • Force Migration
  • Checked scenery library with P4AO, and found that everything was correctly ordered as it was before
  • Started P3D, loaded  a scenario and ... find myself with a freeze progress bar at 69% like with v4,

So what else should I do please?

Thanks for your help.

FWIW, I opted to do a complete clean reinstall of P3D and every add on along with Central V4. Thankfully front loading the pain via reinstall has relieved the pain associated with issues reported here.

snglecoil et al, installing from clean P3D (no previous scenery installed) works OK no issues , they start when you have other scenery (not ORBX) , Central was never properly tested in a REAL system nor by REAL beta testers...

From all of the comments on this topic as well as on the official Orbx forum regarding Version 4, I am leaving well enough alone at this time. Staying with version 3 until I read that Orbx is ironing out the problematic issues that unfortunately plague some of our fellow simmers. My P3D v. 3.xxx is working well and stable.

If you re-installed all the ORBX addons, I'm going to assume that now all your ORBX sceneries are using the .xml method. Is this correct?

You probably have a scenery layering issue or one of the airports has an issue due to the fact that is now using the .xml method.

You should be able to use Lorby's Tool to check if all .xml are properly installed.

A pilot is always learning and I LOVE to learn.

   - Uninstalled ORBX Central

   - Uninstalled P3Dv4.5 and deleted the remaining P3D main folder including all the ORBX files.

   - Deleted everything relating to P3D and ORBX from My Documents, AppData, and ProgramData.

   - Reinstalled P3Dv4.5

   - Reinstalled FTXCentral 3.3.9.2

   - Reinstalled ORBX scenery (207 products)

The only thing I can think of is that there could be an ORBX-related .xml or other file still on the system somewhere that's causing the problem. The only real difference between what you did and I did is that I did is a fresh install of P3Dv4.5..........Doug

This step, I think, is the key to Jean-Claude's issue...if you don't manually remove the xml files in My Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-Ons in particular, a problematic config may well remain behind after the uninstall.  There are a number of threads in LM's forums enumerating the process for "deleting generated files"...that's what needs to be done for a clean reinstall.  These files are intentionally left behind to facilitate version upgrades, where you uninstall one version, install the next one, and leave your config in place.  Great for that, not so great if you're trying to get back to a clean slate.

Here's a YouTube video on how to delete the generated files: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsOibqIV0OQ

Thank you everybody, fantastic AVSIM's fans and great helpers when goings are getting tough, I finally could get rid of the two xml hidden in my P3Dv4 documents add-on files related to ORBX thanks to P4AO and Aivlasoft EFB Database builder getting stuck on these particular xml, I cannot recommend enough this extremely useful freeware (P4AO from Lorby) as it saved my day on numerous occasion, today by recuperating my previous working scenery.cfg file which I had wisely saved before installing this ORBX Central v4!

Now everything is back to normal with super fast loading times and no more blurries. This sad episode is over and I can get back to our wonderful hobby which is about... flying!

I just purchased Barcelona CityScene and installed with FTX Central V3 for what it is worth. Not sure about the status of upcoming releases though.

There is an awesome scenery of Belgrade soon to be released and ORBX folks promised to try to make it available for purchase and install with C3.
