Iris Sims PC 21 Update - 21 DRIVER

Recommended Posts

Hi

The free update I received for the Pilatus 21 (Just Flight) has a weird problem on loading. It bounces on the runway, then plants nose first in the tarmac, a crash on my FSX SE.

System is W10 / i7 / Asus motherboard / gtx 970 no mods with Avast antivirus switched off. The old version works fine.

Any ideas ? Thanks

Are the [contact_points] the same for both aircraft in the aircraft.cfg?  Does it say CRASH on your screen or Aircraft Overstressed?

Also FSX registers a CRASH message on the screen, then reloads the aircraft.

Try adding the contact points of the working aircraft into the aircraft.cfg of the non-working one.

In the non-working one just do this...[contact_points.XX]. that will eliminate them and just copy and paste the working ones into the aircraft.cfg and test.

Charlie

Thanks - its a 99% fix. The plane no longer bounces 6 feet in the air or crashes. I have not fired it up yet.

The 1% is that on loading it now drops a few inches onto the tarmac and motions up and down on the wheel shocks as it were, then stabilises.

But clearly these settings are key to the solution.

Very odd that the installer gives me other settings? I have tried several reloads all with the same result. Perhaps there are residual installer files from the old version I have not deleted. When I first loaded 21 DRIVER I forgot to delete the old directory. But I have since deleted it every time prior to re-install.

cheers

You can easily fix this 1% by lowering the

static_cg_height = xx

(also in the contact points section).
