New issue APF

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have updated both Realtraffic and PSXseecon. The APF section on PSX is yellow all the time. Any ideas why this is? Furthermore, planes are not showing correctly since the updates. A lot of aircraft are disappearing or popping off and on the screen.

What do you mean with the APF section?

I see, you mean the data from the airport file in the status line... If it is yellow, all values are 0.... Maybe you have a wrong airport file, or your Airports parameter is not correct.?

Please post your Log.txt....

EDIT: 15.10 is available now.

I don't understand what has changed to make my aircraft not appear.  This was working perfectly.  Since the updates its been very odd.  It seems that RT is slow in movements of aircraft, and I wonder if PSX removes them due to the slowness of position updates.

I see no big problems in your Log except that two liveries could not be created, you better delete these from your Simulator.

And if you start with a fresh airport ("not yet updated" see the Log) it is normal that the APF section is yellow....

"Since the updates its been very odd." Well there are constant updates, I don't know which one you are referring too. I've watched traffic at EDDF the whole afternoon, and it looked quite normal, live aircraft taxiing, taking off and landiing. So I'm a bit confused about your posts...

BTW: why are you using the JFK Stock airport? You will see much more gate alignments if you use an Add-on airport.

It is an add on airport.  Dreamteam JFK

But you are using an airport file for the Stock airport:

Parkpos file "C:\ParkPosGenerator\airports\KJFK.xml" for Kennedy Intl
*** author:   Nico
*** version:  1.0
*** date:     June 23, 2019
    supplier: P3D stock airport
    209 parking positions
    not yet updated

Generate a file for KJFK Dreamteam and put it in \parked_updates

No, try another airport. It looks like the traffic data from RealTraffic is not very good for KJFK at the moment.

EDDF would be a perfect candidate.

And maybe you should warn Balthasar from RT that the quality of the data over there is poor.

Tried another exactly the same.  It was working 100% until the updates.

I have emailed Balthasar

Did you try EDDF? Please do to see if your problems are gone there....

I believe it's a time lag issue between psx and RT.  The aircraft are not instantaneously on RT.  Could PSX delete them due to this ? Can I modify the settings?

It works like this: PSXT receives data from RT in a continuous stream. Normally every 9  seconds a new position. The buffer of PSXT is 30 seconds. PSXT needs at least two positions to build a vector for the aircraft (where it is heading and how fast, and so on).

If a  position is missing there is no problem, it will produce a vector based on two positions with a 18 seconds gap. It can even miss two consecutive positions. However, if there is a >= 30 seconds gap without any new position, PSXT will extend the movement of aircraft in the air for 9 more seconds before deleting it, but at the ground (not being in a landing roll) it will delete the aircraft immediately.

This is how it is done by PSXT from the beginning, the PSXT updates have not altered these procedures ...

You cannot modify any settings related to this.

LA looks still pretty good

Yes others are not suffering this issue.  I will see if I can find any other issues.  This is a brand new reinstalled system.  I formatted my machine as I thought it was corrupt. The issue has reappeared.  Very strange.

I switched RT to live traffic and now it works.  Just to confirm it should be on the PSX setting ?

Does not matter, live traffic works in the same way. It is only there for Balthasar to see who is using RT. If you cycle to PSXT (not Aerowinx PSX) you will see it will also work.

This is a known issue of RT, the selection of the right application sometimes only work if you select another app first, then exit RT then start and select the app you want. You should tell Balthasar that this problem still exists...
