Blackbox Simulation appears to have done a PSS!

Buying unfinished products only feeds this type of business. Hopefully they aren't disappearing like PSS. I feel bad for those who supported them.

Buy a beta product, you deserve everything you get.

This type of product development has been going on in flight simming for ages. If you've been in the community for longer than 2 years you should, by now, know that just because an end product is promised, doesn't mean you're going to get it.

I feel no sympathy for anyone who should know better than to support the shady business practices of a handful of developers who never complete their projects. It only encourages them to continue as they are.   /rant

Sorry guys, I am confused... what PSS means? I googled it and a whole bunch of weird stuff came out on the search so can't be that.

I agree overall with your post, issue is most of us DLC content providers are very small, part time at the beginning at least, etc.

But you are right, most people don't think about business continuity plans, from day one I started I gave all my passwords, source code information, etc. to a trusted person with instructions to contact a well known developer for P3D so things can continue somehow in the event of my sudden death or illness, it was the logical thing to do for me since this is one of the many things I do for a living on my full time job already as I am in charge of the company resilience plans, disaster recovery plans and all offices business continuity planning in terms of IT.

So I totally get what you are saying.. But regarding PSS.. I am clueless!!.

PSS or Phoenix Simulation Software was a "developer" during the FS9 days. They used a licensing method that required their product "phone home " regularly to activate and also charged for liveries. The principal, Graham Waterfield, did a runner to Malta and PSS collapsed leaving paying customers without access to their products.

Fast forward to around 2013 and BBS, or Blackbox Simulation Software, "rose from the ashes" with a prologue - mention the word beta in any of their support avenues and you were sure to attract the ire of the developer, in fact any sort of criticism of any their products resulted in tantrums.
