UH-1h - BIG THUMBS Up!

Recommended Posts

Couldn't resist it.

It was my preferred module in DCS, now I have it for XP11, and although just less than an hour of use, I have to say that, together with the X-TRident 412, they're my preffered helis for X-Plane.

I actually find already some details better modelled than in DCS.

Only quirk so far is a tendency to bounce ( and it's not due to a low fps or not using adequate flight models per frame ) on ground when there's variable wind / turbulence even if slight.

Also, while the manual suggests disabling "experimental flight model" I am on 11.40, and with it on it feels great.

So far - adorable chopper!

Thanks, Jcomm - I am on the fence about this one - the UH-1 is like "THE" chopper from my childhood days... if you are ok with it´s flight-dynamics that is a clear "GO" for me!

Cheers, Jan

Yep, from that store.

Janov, yes, it feels really great (*), even if we have to agree that there are some details that need fine tunning, but it was just relased, had a huge reception from users and chopper lovers ( I am, although I have to admit I'm affraid of flying in choppers, and totally refuse to even seat on a gyrocopter IRL 🙂 ).

The developers is paying attention to the user feedback. Stuff like the instability on ground with turbulence set in the weather properties will surely get sorted out, and being able to assign butons / sliders to twist grip will come as well with upcoming updates.

This is together with the X-Trident 412, my preferred X-Plane 11 chopper!

(*) Heck... when I write this kind of stuff I feel bad because Zulfi will ask - how can you tell that? You're a Liar !!! 🙂  Truth is I really only know / remember /have faint memmories of how it feels to fly hold for a short while the cyclic and anti-torque of an H300 around 1987, and an R44 around 2006.... Other than that I've only flown gliders IRL and had a 1hr A320 CAE sim session - OH how I enjoyed that, and miss it so much...
