Error Iniatializing SSL

Recommended Posts

Hi, just changed fromPlan-G to Little Nav. I'm getting

"Error Initializing SSL subsystem, Unable to use encrypted network connections (ie HTTPS)"

I downloaded and installed vcredist.x64 and x86. Still get error

Running P3D 4.5, Windows 10.

Not sure where to go from here - any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded and ran both of these, but still getting the same error.

Windows 10 is up to date. I am using Defender, but still getting the error if I turn off all the firewalls.

I'm wondering if something is wrong in the registry?

Thanks, Alex

I am using LNM 2.2.4. I tried all the redist. packages, but no luck so far. The packages download and install ok, but LNM can't seem to find them.

I am having a related problem with F1 GTN (Can't find MScrt120.dll, even though I can see it in the System 32 folder.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm an old flight simmer, and much of the computer technology is over my head.

Here is what the event viewer shows:

@tanker For a brute force approach and an attempt fix the issues with the GTN and LNM: The link to the FAQ I posted above contains links to all available redist packages. I'd install them all. Both the 64 and 32 bit versions. Some might complain about a newer version already installed but this can be ignored. These packages are usually required by a lot of applications and do not use much space.

For LNM: I fixed the SSL problem and the need for a redistributable for it. The next beta of LNM will run fine on a plain Windows 10 without the need to install any redistributable packages.

Thanks Alex,

I think I have tried all the redist packages, but I will go through all of them.

Hi Dale,

you can ignore the SSL error for now. You can still use LNM with Stamen Terrain map theme or one of the offline map themes.
You can try the next LNM beta version once I have this published. It is only a matter of days.

Managed to solve the problem! I went to the site Major Geek, and downloaded "Visual CH Runtime Installer (All-In-One) V56.

It installed all the vc redist dlls and repaired the paths. Everything now works!
