UGCX does not appear in the ADDONS MENU

Recommended Posts

I have activated the UGCX in Config Manager, tried reinstall, but I still can't see UGCX in Add-ons menu.

Hi,

Our very first support issue 🙂

I had to delete your one screen shot there since it showed your account info.

Please look on your DLL.xml.

Location:

C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4

You can open it with Notepad.

You should see this:

<Launch.Addon>
        <Name>Ultimate Ground Crew X</Name>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
        <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
        <Path>.\Ultimate Ground Crew X\UGCX64.dll</Path>
        <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
        <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
    </Launch.Addon>

Do you see that?

Send me a Support Ticket at: www.fs2crew.com

Those DLL.xml's are finicky beasts and the slightest thing wrong with them prevents everything else from loading.

I suspect your DLL.xml is just corrupt.

I'll send you mine.

Best,

Cool 🙂

Glad it's sorted.

The DLL.xml is probably the most ill conceived idea ever dreamed up by Microsoft -perhaps even worse than their foray into the Smart Phone market 🙂

I remember I was on the FSX beta and I remember when they introduced it, and I just knew that thing was going to be a headache for developers... we all hate the thing.  It's too fragile.

Hello!

I know it is a LONG time since this post was active.

I got this error now with P3D V5.2.

Used the DLL fix and now it start to create scenery index at startup aswell. It didn't do that before this so I assume it is fixed!
It is great to just search and find a fix that works straight away! Thank you :-).

No worries, glad it's sorted.

As mentioned, the DLL.xml is the weak link in FSX/P3D.

You had a large number of different people all trying to write to, and all it takes is one little corruption in and the whole thing stops working.

Fortunately this is not an issue in MSFS.
