P3D - When Airports collide !!!

Recommended Posts

A couple of shots showing airport clash and the effects of, plus one of my fave Biplanes the Boeing Stearman flying in NewZealand with some careful tuning of P3D to maximise performance and keep a stable 30 fps vsync.

For clashing airports I find Little Nav Map to be very useful in the resolution process as it is able to display the airport BGLs in use for a particular airport code.

Cheers

This one was difficult to resolve as it is actually three airports combined, one of which used a completly different code.

How it looked after resolution.

I have a "Testing Settings" profile for tweaking and trialing various tuning to suit specific senarios, the goal to be able to max CPU / GPU use while maintaining a smooth 30 Hz vsync (30 fps).

Complex planes and 3D objects seem to be the biggest fps drag, sometimes no matter what you do it's just not possible to get those fps up.

Although P3D can perfrom very well with just autgen, e.g. 30 fps with the below (max) 4k autogen was no problems.

Cheers again :-)
