GNS 530W/430W FSX-SE Issue (resolved)

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I recently purchased the GNS 530W and 430W for FSX-SE. I have went through the installation process and have hit a wall as far as trying to figure out what to do next.

These are the steps I have taken:

- I have started FSX, clicked on the add-on taps. Then selected reality XP GNS for the aircraft I am flying at the time.

- I'll select "Configure Reality XP GNS Popup Windows"

-Next, I tried multiple configurations. Visibility has only given me two options: 2D Cockpit/load hidden. I have selected both options in numerous attempts, then selected either 530/430.

-Lastly, I'll hit accept and the sim/aircraft will reset itself but no GNS 530/430 pop-up windows.

I have tried multiple aircraft that are standard with FSX-SE.

Only exception is Carenado C-206. When flying it will give me the option to select a "Reality XP GNS Unit 1 or 2 (managed) from the instrument view window. When selected; a pop-up window displays but completely black. I inserted a picture below for viewing.

Pic 5

Like I mentioned, I feel like i'm missing a step. Maybe panel configurations but I have no idea how to proceed. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

D.D.

HI,

Can you please post the content of the RXP log files? (see user's manual for files/path).

Ok let's start with this one.

Can you open the aforementioned file in notepad and check:

1) Under the [Window Titles] section there is one or more:

"Window## = Reality XP GNS Unit # (managed)"

2) further down in the file, there is a [Window##] section with the same ## as in 1).

3) in the [Window##] section from 2), there is a line starting with:

"gauge00=rxpGNS2!GNS_###_#, "

4) In addition, the following file is present on your hard drive:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\Gauges\rxpGNS2.dll"

I'd suggest you also review your antivirus, including bit defender, for any quarantined 'rxp' file.

So I checked the files for the Mooney and this is what I found:

1) Window893624096=Reality XP GNS Unit 1 (managed)
Window337176512=Reality XP GNS Unit 1 (managed)

2&3) I scrolled down and did not find the corresponding portion to the window numbers listed above. This was the case for all aircraft panel.cfg I have added the GNS to.

4)I did verify the file was present the gauges folder.

Lastly, I ensured my antivirus is not an issue.

Are you sure the ## are Window893624096 and Window337176512 ??!

Can you post the content of the panel.cfg file in fact?

That is correct. I just reinstalled FSX and GNS. Still looks similar with the numbering convention with every aircraft.

This time for the Mooney Panel.cfg:

Hi, this is really peculiar but we've been able to repro unexpected window## with a specific sequence of actions.

We're looking into this and will report back.

Ok I thank you for your patience.

We've now identified the bug.

Unfortunately this bug went unnoticed during final tests but it is in fact a bug in the compiler which causes this, and although we've documented our source code with the workaround, the latest releases included some optimizations which didn't properly re-implemented the workaround.

We're preparing a new update ASAP and we are sorry for the inconvenience.
