P3D v4.5 Hotfix 2 released (26 Sep 19)

Recommended Posts

Can something be a “hot fix” if it’s released 4 months after the previous version?

Adding version control to programs is just silly. If it works, it works, if it doesn't work people will complain anyway - Why worry?

Nope. Has to be updated just like Tomatoshade. There are some initialisation  issues.

And it will likely be a week or more before PTA gets updated based on past experience.

LM has no control over Add-On vendors, not now, not ever.

Well they do, but only if 3rd party vendors play by the official SDK "rules". If a vendor (such as HiFi, for example) creates an add-on that pokes around in the innards of P3d4 in order to create more realism, then users should be patient while that vendor updates the add-on. LM has no control over add-ons that work this way.

Does the hotfix 2 require to rebuild the prepar3d.cfg? Or does it work without doing this step?

PBR antialiasing issues for FSDT KORDv2 a nearly gone. It is not perfect, but I don't need  SGSS anymore, 4xSSAA is good enough.

I rebuilt it, as I do with every update. Just to be on the safe side.

Looks like some of the tweaks may be incompatible. I got no errors and was able to apply my preset...

Took the plunge, ASP4 does not work (Version 7205). Otherwise: oh well, now we have the GSX Level 2 stuff in all its glory with working SSAA, same goes for those PBR planes like the QW787. Never looked better, wonderful hotfix.

Yes. Same is true for LatinVFRs KMIA which was plagued from PBR AA issues too. Now they are gone.

I am hoping that Orbx Global texture bug is fixed by LM.  I am hoping it is fixed and then I can finally install everything outside the sim except for pmdg birds...lol

I believe this is the release which could possibly be the the final milestone for 4.5 and next year it will probably by v5 ... whoo...gonna enjoy this build till then.

  • Fixed issue where add-on land class textures would not be loaded in some cases.
