SoundPackRegions.ini - more flexibility please

Recommended Posts

Quote

Added ability to read 4-digits code instead of only 2 digits on Regional sound pack INI.  This allows us to offer more refined regional accents.  In V1.1, major airports in Quebec, Canada, will now use French accents rather than English.

Please also allow 1-digit. Apparently we still need 26 entries for the USA.

And while you are at it, please also 3-digit. That might also be useful.

KA•• to KZ••. You only include KM•• in the default file, so the ground crew in e.g. KJFK and KSFO is German for me, because the fallback seems to be the selected menu language.

Good catch.  Beta testers missed that one because no one using German flew in the US.

We'll add that to the next update.

If it's critical for you, you can manually add the entry to the:

SoundPackRegions.INI file.

It would look like this:

Region.127=[*];KJ;US

Region.128=[*];KS;US

That'll cover all US airports starting with KJ and KS.

That's what I did, so now I have 26 entries for the USA. That's why I suggested to have only one entry instead:

Region.***=[*];K;US

Hey Guys,

The v1.2 of the module just takes 2 digits and 4 digits, in considetation, at this part:

For example

Region.128=[*];KS;US

or

Region.128=[*];KSFO;US

If you write one K it wont work, as it wasnt programmed to do that.

Indeed. Thus my suggestion to change that programming so that also one and three digits are accepted. 😉
