Newbie help

I just installed the GTN750  I have the panel in my PA31T in plsce of the old GPS unit.  The problem is, I can't get it to turn on.  The Avidyne turns on as soon as I turn on Avionics as did the old GPS.  I'm not to smart when it comes to this stuff so any help is appreciated.  P3D V3 Windows 10

It looks like you've just installed the Databases, but you also have to install the GTN Trainer and optionally the Launcher.

So I uninstalled everything and did a reinstall and it is working.  However, my weather tab is not highlighted and I am using active sky.

 

I do appreciate your time and help on a Saturday.

You might want to read the Garmin GTN Pilot's Guide to discover what are the optional equipments/devices you may connect to a GTN and how they affect this or that optional feature in the GTN.

TL;DR: I doubt you'd be able to connect a GDL88... And this is certainly not an equipment which would be included at the price point you've purchased the GTN isn't it?

I have this installed in my Carenado PA31T using P3D V3.  When I open the sim, the unit is in the panel and works.  But I am not getting the weather or traffic tabs highlighted.  However, if I open Garmin Aviation Trainer and power it on, I get a pop up with all the functions.  Only [rob;em is whenever I use the pop up it pauses the game.  If I am getting all the functions on the pop up, should I not get them on the unit in the panel?

Couple of things.. you can select traffic to be on or off in the ini settings.

Secondly, do not start the Trainer while the aircraft is running.. it is not meant to be used as a popup.

Use the popup window in the panel instead.

Thank you for the info.  How do I get to the traffic and weather ini settings (not computer savvy)

I tried using the pop up from the panel, but when I click it, it causes the sim to close.

Good Morning.  Is it possible to deactivate my key and possibly get my money back?  I obviously do not have the knowledge to get this product to do what I would like.

As for your other questions: the GTN trainer is a demo of the entire capabilities the device can do. Some of these require additional equipment in the real world and are simulated in the trainer for a specific region, with a specific set of pre-computed data (the traffic and wx included in the GTN trainer).

The genuine Reality XP GTN 750/650 Touch is offering an authentic simulation of a TCAD device, the Ryan 9900BX (what displays the traffic to keep it simple). This is an authentic simulation using an authentic TCAS II simulation at its heart, functioning as a TCAD device only. It is so authentic the simulation passes all the 250 TSIM tests (this is the industrial test for TCAS devices). This in real life costs more than a GTN by the way... However we do not offer any from of Wx simulation at this time (which would be a Wx Radar for the radar beam and a 'wx data source' for the METAR/TAF etc...)

Back to the simulated world and P3D3, let's recap:

You've managed to install the GTN trainer and the RXP GTN product. You're using the GTN in the PA31T and it displays in the virtual cockpit. So far so good? Then do you mind explaining what 'popup' you are referring to?

So the unit is installed in the panel and working.  When I click on the top bezel to enlarge the device (pop up) it causes P3D to close.  I would really like to get this working properly, and I apologize for any frustration, but I am just not that knowledgeable about computers.  I have successfully installed other add ons like airports, ORBX, aircraft and active sky.
